From Diva to Extraordi-Naari - The story behind our #StreeHaiWoh collection.

As a woman co-founder trying to navigate the world of fashion and design, I've always felt like I am juggling a thousand balls. One minute, I'm obsessing over the latest trends, the next, I think deeply about how to make my designs more meaningful. Then I worry about my business being profitable not just for me, but everyone in my company.

One day, on a whim, we launched a T-shirt called "Vanshachi Diva." For those of you who aren't fluent in Marathi, it translates to "The Queen of the House." Now, traditionally, that phrase was usually reserved for the male heir. But we were like, "Our little girls deserve the crown!" So, we flipped the script and created a tee that celebrated the little divas in our lives.

To our surprise (okay, maybe not that surprised, we're pretty confident), it became a huge hit! Parents, aunts, uncles, and even siblings were snatching these up for the little princesses in their lives. We were so inspired that we even made adult versions because, let's face it, who doesn't want to feel like a queen?

That's when we decided to create a whole line of designs that were both fun and empowering. We called it "#StreeHaiWoh," which roughly translates to "She's a Woman." And let me tell you, these designs are some of the best we have come up with so far.

Take "Somersault in a Saree" for example. Inspired by those viral Instagram videos of women doing gymnastics in sarees, we created a graphic of a woman flipping through the air, wearing traditional attire and sneakers. Talk about a power move!

Then there's "Extraordi-Naari," our Desi superhero. We imagined her as a mix of Wonder Woman and your favourite Bollywood actress, fighting crime and looking fabulous while doing it. And yes, a comic strip is definitely in the works.

We have designs like “We Belong” inspired by Garbha, Bollywood and celluloid. You can rock this design at a casual outing or in the gym or dance studio!

We have designs inspired by archery as a shout-out to our growing numbers of Indian women in sport.

One of our favourites is “Believe” which is a shout out to the tigresses inside all women!

Not all superheroes are about fighting, some create music, poetry, dance and literature. For us, Saraswati is a symbol of knowledge and creativity. We wanted to bring that out in this design titled “Learn with Joy” which we feel is one of our most soothing and positive creations.

For the more abstract-minded we have a calming and creativity-inspiring Yantra (A physical manifestation of a mantra or a spiritual chant).

And since our little divas are also goddesses, we have a princess hugging a lion which is beyond adorable!

One of my favourite designs is "Akkacha Vishayach Hard E (आक्काचा विषयच हार्ड ए)", which is a playful nod to the Marathi rap scene. It's a way of saying, "Don't mess with me." Because sometimes, a little attitude is all you need.

So, there you have it. From "Diva" to "Extraordi-Naari" our journey has been one of empowerment, creativity, and a whole lot of fun. And we're just getting started. So, come join the #StreeHaiWoh movement and let's make the world a more stylish, more empowering place, one T-shirt at a time.
