Coming home to your happy place

Diwali is a time of togetherness, about going home to your loved ones and celebrating with them. We celebrate the victory of good over evil and of light over darkness. We celebrate prosperity and joy. Most importantly, we celebrate just being with each other.

We travel to physically be with each other. In an age of high resolution, WhatsApp calls with crystal clear audio where everything can be ordered online. We struggle through surge pricing and crowded bus stops, train stations and airport terminals to be near each other. Each of us is a rocket full of restless energy to reach our destination!

Family is beautiful. We may not always get along like we do with our best friends. But family accepts who you are. This is the most important thing. It is why we always come together in the end. To love each other, fight with and for each other, eat food and light lamps together.

In a recent episode of “The Rings of Power”, Celebrimbor says, “It is not strength that overcomes darkness- but light. That is even more true for Diwali. You can do some jugaad to light a lamp virtually. Ultimately though, a lamp can only light another when the flame touches. That is why that contact is very important.

In India, not everyone hugs, especially elders or relatives we do not know very well. But when we meet them, we offer them something. That gift, when we hand it to them, is our way of coming in physical contact with people. You give the gift, and they hug you, put their hand on your head or shoulder, and do a namaskar (which is as good as a touch IMO). In the case of my lovely niece, she plants a big kiss on my cheek. Well-thought-out gifts are all the more meaningful.

You do not need to give gifts this Diwali, but you should if it is within your means. Maybe it is for that cousin who never buys anything and depends on you for the clothes on your back. Or for that sibling that never wears that colour you think would look great on them. It is a way to come close and show them how you feel.

At Adimanav, we make our designs so they can be gifted. They are a way for you to give something positive. We want these tees to be something that will make that spark brighter when you light those collective lamps of love.

In conclusion, we would like to say that yes, we do sell these designs. Our Diwali depends on your buying, and we are grateful for your support so far. All the thought and care our team has put into the Diwali Collection is our way of respecting your choice to spend your hard-earned prosperity on our products.

When you gift our T-shirts to your loved ones, know this. When your loved ones smile, our hearts also fill with joy!

Regards, Team Adimanav
